WATERTOWN — Very few things remain constant in the world of semipro football.
Personnel changes from day to day, week to week, year to year, and there are no guarantees as to who you might see suiting up from one practice to the next.
But for 25 years, George Ashcraft has remained the face of the Watertown Red and Black.
Ashcraft — who recently turned 59 years old — is entering his 25th year of coaching for the nation’s oldest semipro football team.
The Red and Black will open its 118th regular season with a 7 p.m. game Saturday at Glens Falls.
