GLENS FALLS -- The Glens Falls Greenjackets are heading into the Empire Football League playoffs stinging from Saturday night’s 39-0 loss to the Glove Cities Colonials in their regular-season finale.
The Jackets, 4-5 in the league, 5-5 overall, are the fourth seed and travel to first-place Plattsburgh (8-1) for a 7 p.m. semifinal game against the North Stars on Saturday. Glove Cities plays at Watertown in the other semifinal.
Injuries, turnovers and defensive breakdowns proved costly at East Field on Saturday night. Running backs Tony DeLoatch and Kevin Caradonna and offensive tackle Tim Hammond were all sidelined in the first half. The other tackle, Aaron Straight, injured his knee last week and didn’t play Saturday.
