Overtime kickoff return extends Red & Black’s Plattsburgh misery

PLATTSBURGH — The Watertown Red and Black suffered yet another heart-wrenching loss at Plattsburgh on Saturday night.

Tevin Connors returned the opening kickoff of overtime 80 yards for the game-winning touchdown, lifting the North Stars to a 33-27 overtime victory over the Red and Black in a matchup between longtime Empire Football League rivals at Penfield Park.

Watertown, which fell to 2-3 overall this season, suffered its 10th straight loss at Plattsburgh and hasn’t won on the North Stars’ home field since 2007. That streak includes the 2010 and 2014 EFL title games, and three playoff games overall.
