PLATTSBURGH — Tevin Conners returned a kickoff in overtime to lift the Plattsburgh North Stars to a 33-27 victory at Melissa Penfield Park Saturday.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the North Stars (2-4). After the Empire Football League game, an out-of-breath Conners said the win put the North Stars back on track.

“I was trying to not have my brothers play another quarter,” Conners said. “Five quarters of football is rough. To be honest, I was telling myself I needed this one as soon as overtime hit, and we got the ball back.”

Conners said the return of long time North Stars quarterback Harry Rascoe, who threw for 286 yards, helped spark the team.
