GLENS FALLS — Leejay Pollacchi rushed for two scores, Jack Gibbs threw for two more and the Glens Falls Greenjackets topped Mohawk Valley 38-21 in the first round of the Empire Football League playoffs at East Field on Saturday night.
The Greenjackets (7-4) will visit the top-seeded Syracuse Strong in next weekend’s semifinals.
It was an inauspicious start for the Greenjackets’ offense, as Gibbs was sacked and fumbled on their first play from scrimmage. Mohawk Valley (3-8) recovered and scored on the next play, a 1-yard run by Jeremy Jones.
