The Empire Football League recently held its Annual Meeting in Binghamton, New York and announced major initiatives for 2017:

        EFL Game of the Week* - based on data collected from EFL livestream broadcasts over the last 5 years and league branding/growth initiatives, the decision was made to integrate live video streaming league wide. The EFL Game of the Week will enable each EFL team to acknowledge sponsors as an adjunct to traditional printed media (tickets, programs), allow them to market their product and provide an opportunity for fans around the world to view EFL game action.   EFL Franchise Fee - revised franchise fee structure by reducing cost to $500 from the previous $1500 (effective next season).

  EFL All Star Process - member teams reviewed/fine-tuned the league all-star recognition process based on feedback from EFL players.

Now in its 48th year of operation, the Empire Football League continues to be the premier, oldest semipro/minor league football organization in the nation. The EFL prides itself in consistency and adherence to agreed upon processes. The league’s success is driven by a solid group of team owners that work together and respect one another as businessmen. EFL team owners have accepted their roles regarding operation of the league and rely upon the league’s leadership as facilitators with the major focus upon quality vs. quantity.

The 2017 EFL season will start July 8th (bye September 2nd) and ends September 23rd. The EFL Playoffs will take place September 30th and conclude with the EFL Championship Game on October 7th.
