GLENS FALLS — Doomed by their own mistakes and a sharp Plattsburgh passing game, the Glens Falls Greenjackets saw their last playoff hopes slip away Saturday night.
Harry Rascoe passed for four touchdowns to lead the North Stars to a penalty-filled 37-6 Empire Football League victory over the Jackets at East Field.
The loss in the annual Mayor’s Cup game dropped Glens Falls to 3-6, lodged firmly in fifth place in the six-team league with one game remaining.
“We started off strong, but we gave them the ball on the goal line and we got in the red zone three times and we couldn’t convert,” said Jackets head coach Raymond Swann, whose team plays at Utica on Saturday. “We must have had 20 penalties tonight.”
